ANNUAL SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION 2024

Sports and games are an integral part of human life. They serve a variety of purposes, includes providing exercise and recreation, building character and teamwork skills, and promoting competition and friendship. On 21st December, 2024, Vartak Model School organised its Annual Sports Day. The event took place in the spacious playground of the school. The Chief Guest, honourable Brigadier Sanjeet Singh, Chief Engineer, Head Quarter, Project Vartak, Patron of Vartak Model School arrived at 9:30 am and inaugurated the sports program by lighting the lamp. Mr. D S Rao, Chairman of Vartak Model School, Mr. A P Shahi, EE (Civil), Project Vartak, Secretary of Vartak Model School, Mr. D. K. Das, Camp Commandant, Project Vartak, & Mrs Reena Das, Mr Narendra Kumar, AE, Civil, Project Vartak, Nominated Parent Member of Vartak Model School & Mrs Mala Verma were also present in the event. A large sitting arena was arranged for the parents and students to sit and enjoy the day. Along with this, the stage was also decorated. Students of all classes participated in the sports day. The Sports Day started with a march past of the four different houses. After the march past, an energetic dance performance was performed by the students from class II to class V. The event began with the juniors of Nursery ,LKG and UKG participating in a great amalgamation of track and field events and some interesting yet fun races. They tested their strength in various events such as candy race, lifting water bottle, balloon blast, monkey race, book balance and bag packing race. Next, was the turn of the seniors from grades I to V. The sports were dress up relay race, beads weaving race, back foot front, glass pyramid race, sponge and water , 100 metres race, hurdle race, cock fight, 200 metres race, needle and thread and relay race. Spoon with marble game was also organised for the teachers. The chief guest and the parents also cheered for the children and teachers. The Chief Guest, honorable Brigadier Sanjeet Singh, Chief Engineer, Head Quarter, Project Vartak, Patron of Vartak Model School, gave away prizes to the winners. Points were given to the four houses depending on the performance of their representatives in the event. A motivational speech was delivered by the Chief Guest, in which he advised everyone to participate in the field of sports and also discussed the many benefits of doing sports activities. In the end, the Principal, Mrs. Jonali Talukdar Sarmah, thanked everyone for their presence and support, and congratulated the students for their exceptional performances. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem. The school had made arrangements for refreshments for the chief guest, parents, and students.
